"I love capturing a person's individual character in my artwork. I also like the finished drawing to look original and hand-made, with the artist's hand visible in the marks of the drawing, so that it has a more personal touch than a photo. It a pleasure to be able to make art which brings such joy to people and their loved ones."
As an artist specialising in portraits, Catherine is available for commission work. All her portraits are entirely hand-drawn using only the finest quality Rembrandt pastels on Winsor and Newton artist's pastel paper.
Catherine works from a favourite photograph or photographs of your choice - the more you can supply for her to refer to the better, in order to capture each individual person's special characteristics. No problem if you can't supply your perfect photo, as she can combine features from multiple photos in order to create your ideal image.
Before mailing your portrait, Catherine will send you a digital photo for review. This is your chance to suggest any changes and comment on the portrait. Clients are involved from the beginning to the end of the process, so feel free to contact her with any questions or doubts. Usually Catherine will be able to have your portrait done and shipped to your home around 3 weeks after the portrait has been ordered.
